What do you wish for?

I wish for money & happiness in our lives to be as abundant as the dandelion seeds in our yard (in the Spring), and for our problems to blow away as easily...

Mosaic Monday Bunday

Welcome back to another Mosaic Monday Bunday!  Today we're a few days into Hannu Chanukk --- Hanukkah?  Chanukah?  Really, I am never sure what the official spelling of the holiday is!  To all my Jewish friends I am heartily sorry and mean no offense!

Anyway, I was surprised by the scarcity of rabbity Hanukkah items on Etsy!  I think many of the items I came across were just tagged Hanukkah as a gift idea, not as an actual holiday item.  But nevertheless, I did find some lovely bunny-themed Hanukkah things that I think are just perfect!  So Shalom & Chag Sameach!

Mosaic Monday Bunday

Welcome back to another Mosaic Monday Bunday!  Happy December!  What a great start to the holiday season, eh?  Snow on the ground, holiday songs on the radio, tasty treats in the fridge, and holiday movies on the TV...

This Thursday is Saint Nicholas' Day.  When I was a little girl, my mom would have me put my shoes outside my bedroom door for Saint Nick, and in the morning, I'd find little gifts and candy in them.  She told me that he'd leave coal for naughty children.  I've learned since then that in other countries, children leave hay & carrots for his horse or donkey, and that he collects the children's wish lists.

So in honor of this fun little holiday, here is this week's Mosaic Monday Bunday: Saint Nick & Rabbits!

Full Moon Dream Board

I've wanted to make one of these for a very long time.  I've wanted it to be a monthly habit.  I've collected lots of magazines to make them.  But I've only made a few over the years.  I finally just sat down & did it.  I hope to repeat the process!  It was fun... ^-^

This one was for The Full Frost Moon, which according to Jamie Ridler asks, "What is clear about your dreams? What further clarity do you seek?”

Embiggen

I had a lot of words on it, which seems strange & unlike me, but it's how it worked out!  Perhaps I needed more concrete thoughts this time...

What Clarity Do You Wish For?

I wish for the clarity to see which path will bring me the most joy and happiness.  The clarity to find my way out of the mess I feel I've made and back into the joyous, prosperous life I envision.

Mosaic Monday Bunday

Welcome back to another Mosaic Monday Bunday!  This past weekend, we got our first snow-that-sticks of the winter.  Saturday we woke up to a light dusting that didn't quite melt by sunset, and as I create this, Sunday morning, the snow is falling in fat fluffy flakes blanketing everything.  So today's Mosaic Monday Bunday pays tribute to SNOW and the upcoming winter season...

Pinterest?

While scrolling pinterest the other day I saw a few versions of a disclaimer.  They weren't very pretty and didn't say exactly what I would; so I made myself a pretty one (you can see the original here) and decided that if anyone else wants to use it they should have one without my signature.  Therefore I made this version!  ^-^  Please feel free to pin this and share with others!

Wishcasting Wednesday

I've been avoiding answering Jamie's Wishcasting Wednesday questions for a while now; they've all been hitting too close to home and answering was too painful.  This week's is no exception...

What peace do you wish for?

The peace I wish for is the peace that comes from knowing your bills are all paid.  The peace to answer the phone without fear that it's a bill collector.  The peace in knowing the rent and electricity and all the other little bills are paid, and will be paid on time in the future.  The peace in knowing the available transportations is reliable, that work and income are steady.  That food can be purchased, and all the other little non-food things like toilet paper, soap, etc. that a family needs.  That no one can take any of those things away.  I feel like it's a peace I shouldn't even have to think about, but I've been living without it for far too long...

Mosaic Monday Bunday

Welcome back to another Mosaic Monday Bunday!  Tomorrow is Election Day here in the United States and I want to remind you all to get out there and vote!  (I did try to find *something* with rabbits & Romney - to keep this more neutral - but the only items I got were yarns and oven & bath mitts! XD )

Zombie Madness

Halloween has passed, as has La Dia de los Muertos, but zombies and zombie movies are always in vogue nowadays, so I was not surprised by aquariann's choice for her autumn blog hop...

aquariann's Zombie Blog Hop

That's right!  A ZOMBIE blog hop!  I don't often choose the macabre as a subject matter, but every once in a while inspiration pulls me that way and I wind up with something like this...

Undead Mermaid ACEO

Or maybe it's a challenge that motivates me to reach outside my comfort zone, and come up with something like this...

Magical Menagerie Pendant - Zombie Bunny Rabbit

But whatever the reason, a muse, a challenge, or the season, zombie art is always fun to play around with...

Don't forget to check out all the other Blog Hop posts for more Zombie goodness!

Halloween

Last night we took the kids out in the car to trick or treat over the many miles that comprise our neighborhood, they had fun dressing up and collecting candy, but we got no photos. >.<  D'oh!

However on Saturday we attended a super awesome costume party at Jacqueline's sister's in honor of her neice's birthday!  And we got pics!  ^o^

First, check out my nails... I created my own version of the galaxy manicure!  (yes, i do still have my shiny sparkly snowflakes up from last Christmas!  I love them! :P)

Base coat topped with China Glaze (CG) Smoke & Ashes, then sponge on Blue Iguana, Glittering Garland, Senorita Bonita, Some like it Haute (all CG), and Orly's Rococo-a-Go-Go. Dab on some CG Techno, and use a dotting tool to make a few white dots.  Then the fun part: top the white dots, and Some Like it Haute with glow-in-the-dark nail polish!  It doesn't distort the colors and makes your fingers glow!  ^o^  Quick dry top coat a must - 2-3 layers!

Of course these represent All of Space & Time to go with my Rose costume!  ^-^  (I tried a TARDIS, but failed; my brushes are too big!)

The next regeneration of the Doctor returns to find an older and heavier Rose Tyler... XD ...and her sonic screwdriver has been replaced with a NORMAL screwdriver! I bet the Silence did it... (Get it? The Silence, *sonic* screwdriver... HA!)

I digress.

Antonio went as a Demo Man from Team Fortress 2...

We were kinda bummed that he didn't go as Black Iron Man as he had originally planned; he had made the coolest arc reactor!  It actually lit up!  :D

And Lia and JoAnn were SOOOOOO cute!

They did Pinkie Pie & Rarity cosplays!  (You better go look at that awesome photo on black!)  Lia made her complete outfit, and JoAnn's ears... Are they not totally adorbz!?  ^o^

Anyhooo, there are a few more shots on my flickr, check them out if you want!

Mosaic Monday Bunday

Welcome back to another Mosaic Monday Bunday! This week, we celebrate United Nations Day on Friday the 26th. I remember getting little UNICEF boxes as child to fill with change and return to school and I vaguely remember something in the history books about the UN, but to be honest, I never gave them much thought. But the United Nations does a lot of good work "maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights." (http://www.un.org/en/aboutun/index.shtml)

So here is my Mosaic Monday Bunday salute to the UN, including pieces from or inspired by the original 5 countries to join and a few of the more recent members.  (Yes, there were other more recent members to join, but I couldn't find anything suitable on Etsy.)

Mosaic Monday Bunday

Welcome back to another Mosaic Monday Bunday!

This week we're reminding you to wear PURPLE on Friday, October 19th to show support for LGBT youth who are victims of bullying.  This is Ally Week when LGBT youth all over will identify, support, and celebrate their Allies in standing up to anti-LGBT language, bullying, and harassment.  GLAAD.org has lots of ways you can get involved, and actions you can take RIGHT NOW; just click here to go to GLAAD.org's Spirit Day page.

And in case you need some ideas on how to bring some purple bunny-licious style on Friday, whether man, woman, or child, we've got what you need right here (the middle one is my par-TIQUE-yoo-lar fave ^-^)...

Mosaic Monday Bunday

Welcome back to another Mosaic Monday Bunday!  In case you weren't aware, October is LGBT History Month as well as National Bullying Prevention Month.  These are topics very close to my heart.  There are two days that occur this week, and one next week that support these causes:
  • Wednesday the 10th is Unity Day, when we wear ORANGE to show our support for those who have been bullied and band together to put an end to it.
  • Thursday the 11th is National Coming Out Day, when we celebrate LGBT individuals coming out and openly being themselves to raise awareness of the LGBT community & civil rights movement.
  • Friday the 19th is Spirit Day, when we wear PURPLE to show our support for LGBT youth who have been bullied and to stand up against it.

I'll be writing more about my own experiences with this later in the month (to be published on the Queer Etsy Street Team's blog), but I wanted at least one Mosaic Monday Bunday to pay tribute to these very important issues.  So here it is, a rainbow of bunnies and rainbows, who shine with their love and unique selves...  ^-^

Smithfits Bazaare Emporium

Who here loves Steampunk?  I know I do!  All those gears and shiny brass bits...  ^-^  So pretty!

If you feel like I do, then you'll love this shop!

The Smithfits Bazaare Emporium

Their creative name comes from their celebration of all their unique quirks and differences, like on the Island of Misfit Toys from the Christmas special, "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer," and that they are an Emporium and Bazaar selling a bizarre selection of goods!  As they say, "Each piece is a truly unique, one-of-a-kind item; a individual work of art."

Just take a look at my faves:

  1. Castle Crashers Hand-Drawn Ceramic Mug, Bear: 5th in a Series of 8
  2. Clockpunk Steampunk Pendant Necklace, Watch Movement & Gears Hunting Owl with Swarovski Crystals on Cable Link Chain
  3. Steampunk Gun, Dart Gun Painted in Brass, Silver & Black - Accessory Weapon for Clockpunk Steampunk - Toy
  4. Hand Painted Black Socks for Bigger Feet: LEGO Finders, women's large/xl - men's medium/large
Be sure to stop by the Smithfits Bazaare Emporium and see what goodies you can find to bring home!
