QOTD

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

OH! My desk...

Here it is:
Nice and neat...

To my left...

Pile to the far left consists of a few blank notebooks and graph paper which has no place to be, pile in the center is full of little slips of papers and things I need to take care of, open binder is my daily checklist, which keeps me on track!  Usually...

To my right (and obvy right in front of me)...

Stack of DVDs from the library on the far right, and art in progress on top of the scanner/printer! Oh, that little thing in front of my mouse is like an elbow rest, my ex added a *brace* to the table and left screw heads sticking out.  They're quite painful... :\

And that is how I did today. How did *you* do?

P.S. Do not ask about the art table. Not that everything got dumped there, but it still needs work...

Happy Organize Your Home Office Day!

Yes that's right today is Organize Your Home Office Day. It's celebrated on the second Tuesday in March, and what would be the best way to celebrate? Why, organizing your home office of course! So here I am... sitting at my desk... and this is what I see...

On my left...

On my right...

The whole thing...

Do you see that plate?

Yeah this one...

See what's in it?

Yeah, those are the remnants from Esme's birthday gift...

And other bits of things...

They've been there since the end of JANUARY! And somewhere under all that is a list of things to get done, and probably a bill or two I've forgotten to pay... And on my right are CDs of pics that I've been meaning to go through and pull some to print... :::le sigh:::

I won't even get into the mess of things at my art table...

So what are you doing today?

Etsy Blogger of the Month: DizzyDragonflies

Say hello to March's Blogger of the Month...

She's got 2 shops and can be found in lots of different places! She's got hand-dyed yarn and all kinds of knitted things.

Here are some of my favorites from her shops...

The colors of this yarn is so vibrant! ^-^

And this lovely scarf looks so warm and cozy!

Don't forget to check out her shops and blog, etc., and see what's there that might be calling to you...

BlogCarnival: Spring time is almost here!

Melissa gives us the topic: Spring time is almost here, do you have any special items in your shop to celebrate the season?

Well, I certainly do! These are my favorite of the things in my shop right now...

Soon I hope to have more!

I am a Creative Goddess

Today I thought I'd update you all on the things I've been doing on the creative front for the last month or so...

Are you ready? Hang on!

Let's fall down the rabbit hole...

First up is a painting I did for StarryDance's birthday! I used a dikdik as my unicorn model; they are so cute & tiny!

And I suppose these count as creative too: Groundhog Cupcakes!

Then the whole family made some woven Brigid's Crosses for Imbolc. We used paper instead of straw. This is just a few of them:

Next is a drawing I did after our Imbolc ritual in which we did a guided meditation in which we planted a seed of something in ourselves and saw it grow to fruition. I still think I want to make it into a watercolor painting...

Then I finished up the Koi ATC I had been working on since before the holidays I think! I used watercolors, watercolor pencils, acrylics, and markers...

I even played with some clay and made some charms for Temple of the Twelve bracelets...

...but somebody broke the ends off the feathers! >.< I am not sure I'll be able to get them to work, but we'll see...

I even got creative in the grocery store and made a rainbow of peeps... ^-^ I wonder if it would be very bad of me to BUY a bunch of Peeps just for a photoshoot...

Mid-month I drew the winners for my One World, One Heart giveaway and made them each a Magic Carpet Ride postcard in their favorite colors. I love how they turned out! I started with a wet watercolor background that I put salt on for that cool effect, then drew the bunnies where they seemed to fit. One with lots of purple...

And one in pink & light blue. I lovelovelove the soft feeling this one has...

Then I attempted to enter the Art House Co-op Weekly Project with the prompt "brown bears bake brownies" - but I failed to note that is was supposed to be 4x4! I still love how it turned out and am thinking about doing more in a series: ABCs (angelic alligators act angry...)? The brown bears... (do something)...??? I dunno....

Then I did my first watercolor portrait, Reid Harris Cooper. It's small and not perfect, but you gotta start somewhere!

And then there is Blodeuwedd, who I created for a swap. She didn't go in the direction I had hoped she would, but sometimes things just don't...

On Tuesday, I decided to try a different way of collaging, but I am not sure I like how it came out. Still it's good enough to add to our altar for SPRING! ^o^

Finally, for the past few days, I've been working on some cute-sy animals in a retro style... This one is a deer:

And this one is a LAMB (not a bunny-deer like people keep saying...):

And still I keep taking pictures everyday, and have gotten some great shots, but I think I've gone on long enough for now... ^-^

What have *YOU* been creating?

The Sunshine Award

A while back, Eugena's Creations gave me the Sunshine Award and I haven't found the time to blog about it until now! First of all you should definitely check her out, she is soooo creative! I wish I could get my clay to do that! ANY of that! LOL! Thank you, Eugena!

The Sunshine Blog Award is awarded to bloggers whose positivity and creativity inspire others in the blog world. And as with any blog award there are rules, and as I may have mentioned before, I am not much of a rule follower. :P But here they are nonetheless!

  • Put the logo on your blog or within your post. Check!
  • Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award. Check!
  • Pass the award to 12 six bloggers. Hmmm... Some nominees have posted rules that say you have to pass it on to 12 and others say only 6... We shall see how many I can come up with...
  • Link the nominees within your post. But of course!
  • Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog. Indubitably!
So let's see who I can come up with to pass this onto, who hasn't already received it...

  1. Naturally the blogger that inspires me the most is my beloved, Jacqueline, with her Not Your Typical Weight Loss Blog. Her positive & outside-the-box thinking are definitely inspiring!
  2. Then I'd have to say Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist inspires me with her magical photos and sunny attitude.
  3. Suzi Blu and her Lovely Dream is also a huge inspiration. She's crazy and wild and soooo creative!
  4. I can't forget to mention Sarah Von, who writes Yes and Yes; she is so upbeat all the time, and has the most unusual topics!
  5. I'd also like to add Marilyn the Toymaker to this list. She does the prettiest illustrations and shares so much!
  6. ...
  7. Ummm....
  8. I keep thinking of more people...
  9. but then I think they've already gotten this award...
  10. or don't do the whole blog award thing...
  11. ...So...
  12. That'll be all...
Thank you again, Eugena! And thank YOU, Sunshine Award nominees! ^-^ For all your inspiring positivity & creativity!
