Wishcasting Wednesday

What do you wish to share?

I wish to share my art with the world! (Boy that sounds cheesy, but it's true.)

I wish to share happy & fun times with my family & friends.

I wish to share my kindness and compassion with people everywhere.

You can be a maker of magic and a tender of wishes. It’s easy. Answer the wish prompt on your blog and then add a direct link to your post in the box [at the link] below. Support wishes by visiting other participants, leaving a comment saying “As (insert name) wishes for her/himself, so I wish for her/him also.” It’s that simple. There is great power in wishing together.

Gratitude

Yesterday I kinda cheated and only *shared* an image for my gratitude post, so today I shall post a bit more...

The image I shared on fb yesterday...

TODAY!  OMG!

I have gratitude for PAINT - I painted some lovely works of art IMHO!

and for JoAnn's help - who helped mostly yesterday with primer coats, but also today with randomness...

and for Lia's en-THU-siasm - even when I am grouchy, she makes me happy...

and for ICE - it was hot, and the ice in the evening in the heat doesn't even get a chance to freeze completely before we're putting it in our drinks!

and cold showers - did I mention it was hot?

and for my CAMERA - even in this humidity, it only gave me a wee bit of trouble with the zooming & focusing...

and POSITIVITY - because life really is great right now, I just need to stop worrying so much!

and soon I will be very grateful for ice cream - gonna have a small bowl mebbe before bed!

and fans - the bed is much closer to them...

and sleeping!  ^o^

GOOD NIGHT!  ???

Gratitude

Today I am grateful for getting things done!

I have a collection of things to paint, I vacuumed and cleaned and dusted, and I watched a disc of House, Season 1.

I posted some things on my blog, ate some tasty food, and soon, I might just finish my book! ^-^

Food! And links to recipes!

So let me tell you about this FOOD we had yesterday!

First JoAnn made this delish Jalapeño Popper Buffalo Chicken Macaroni and Cheese and although I was a leeetle worried about the jalapeños & hot sauce making it too hot, but it was PERFECT!  We made it without the chicken, but next time she's going to add it, and we totally skipped the corn flake topping and used french fried onions and ... omg, we found french fried jalapeños!  And of course with it, Jacqueline made delicious buttermilk dinner buns to go with it.

And then, I finally got around to making this Homespun Clementine Cake which was so incredibly easy to make!  But definitely needs some changes.  First of all, the whipped topping with added sugar.  Ew.  Too sweet.  I think the recipe I found was written wrong, and they meant just plain whipped heavy cream with nothing added, then mix the sugar & vanilla in, OR use non-dairy whipped topping.  Do not add more sugar to your store-bought whipped topping...

And I think if clementines aren't available, as they USUALLY aren't in the summer around here, you can substitute canned mandarin oranges, drained & chopped of course.  You might even be able to substitute the liquid from the mandarin oranges for the OJ... ^-^

And I heartily apologize for no pics of them, but I was too busy eating!  LOL!

Gratitude

Today I am grateful for already-prepared-by-Jacqueline fresh coconut (no one got hurt today...), clementines, and roasted garlic hummus! Lia coming home, Joseph coming to visit, yummeh mac & cheese made by up & coming super chef JoAnn, and a delightful game of Apples to Apples with Antonio and everyone!

Remind me to tell you all about the recipes later...  It was all so good!

Gratitude & more

So for the past few months, over on FB, I've been doing a short little daily gratitude post before I sign off for the night.  I started ... oh around February ... nothing set in stone, nothing I force myself to do, I do miss days, and while at first I tried to catch up, I eventually realized that's not the point.  The point is what was happening to me throughout the day.  I would notice all these wonderful tiny things I used to take for granted, and basically ignore because I was so wrapped up in how bad everything else was going.  And on days when things seemed absolutely miserable, I made myself find just a few things to be grateful for.  The color of the sky on the way to work, the tastiness of the lunch Jacqueline made for me, Jacqueline's smile when I came home, the car getting me to work, heat in the house... very basic things some of them, but reminding myself that even when I felt *really* low, I still had things to find gratitude for, really changed my perspective...

Anyway, long story short, I decided I'd post them HERE as well, as just a beginning, to dip my toes back in the blogging waters...  And mebbe even to expand a bit!  So here is tonight's post, with some extra flair!  ^-^

Soooo... today I was gonna get organized.

I was gonna schedule art and writing and job searching and clean my desk and art table and ... wait... aren't those ALWAYS on my list???  Yeah...

I failed.

HOWEVER, I did mail out 3 packages (I sold 3 out of 4 things I placed on eBay, YAY!), get some shopping done, make roasted garlic (omg yum), and roasted garlic hummus (omg I feel like I ate a whole head of garlic but it was so good!), and open a coconut (Woot!  With a hammer!) and extract *some* of the meat (hardest part!).  Many thanks to Jacqueline for taking over the job, AND, despite getting cut, not once, but twice, continuing to persevere til the job was done.  *I* would have given up long before, and in fact I did! (And yes I have kissed the boo-boos and bandaged them...)

Today I also have gratitude for helpful friends (I got some treatments to try on my hairs to hopefully strengthen & moisturize them), cooler temps (perfect!), the veeries and chipping sparrows and goldfinches and hummingbirds (I so love the hearing & seeing them...), Bette Midler (watched Beaches & Gypsy tonight), and Wegman's Mojito Sorbet which tastes just as awesome as Baskin Robbins Daquiri Ice that I've not been able to find since they left the area... ^o^  (I think it's a dupe as they say in the nail polish world!)

So tell me...

What made your day awesome-sauce today?
