~ Jamie Ridler
This week, Jamie was inspired by the Mary Oliver poem, Wild Geese, and particularly the line, “You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.” She explains further here: http://jamieridlerstudios.ca/the-vulnerability-of-desire, but today's question is one I try not to think about. She even explains why I feel this way:
It’s scary to share what we really want if we feel we’ll be judged. I’m worried that if I say I love chandeliers, fashion and going to the spa, you’ll think I’m a snob. You’ll lose trust in me, thinking I must not be as down-to-earth as you thought I was.And it's true. If I answer this question, people might think of me differently, but I am still ME. So...
The soft animal of my body wishes for mountains of soft cuddly bedding, frilly dresses and floofy skirts, hair that flows in thick curls to my waist, silky petticoats and camisoles, warm fluffy sweaters, hot cocoa with home-made marshmallows, warm sunshiny days with warm lakes to swim in and warm rocks to dry off on, ruffled panties and fluffy socks, cheese-drenched crunchies and mouthfuls of dark chocolate, flaky pastries and rainbow-sprinkled cupcakes.

I love the pictures---AND the sentiments.

i *LOVE* your collage! as you wish for yourself, i wish for you also.
ReplyDeleteI read the other post, but I am still not sure what the soft animal is. I wish to stand on a mountain alone and feel the wind play with my hair. I wish to spend hours playing on cool playgrounds. I wish to walk and walk and walk through the forest until I don't feel like walking anymore, and then to sleep in a tent with the stars peeking through the netting. I wish to get up early on in the cool summer morning and simply smell the air and feel the calm.
ReplyDeleteI also wish for intimate things which I won't detail here.
Your list made my heart swell. I'm all teary-eyed again! This week is a particularly magnificent wishing week, I think.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well. With sprinkles on top! (I love rainbow sprinkled cupcakes, too. :)
Your list is inspiringly indulgent. As BunnyKissed wishes for herself, so I too wish for her.
ReplyDeleteOh yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I loved your wishes so much ...the detail ...made me think more for me!
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself I so lovingly wish this for you also. xx
What a deliciously decadent list of loves!
