Mermaid Summer

Perhaps it's presumptuous of me to assume we're going to go swimming as much as I hope to, especially with gas prices going the way they are, and the way summer work is looking, but I am moving forward with positive intentions and have dubbed the summer of 2008:
Mermaid Summer

We've already begun by reading some of the Emily Windsnap books and Mermaid Park by Beth Mayall, and we've watched Splash and will soon be getting Aquamarine from Netflix.

In addition to books and movies, we'll be playing mermaid ourselves at the lake, and doing all kinds of mermaid crafts too! So do you have any good mermaid books or movies or crafts you want to share? I'd love some suggestions!

  1. Mermaid summer it is! I think we will be swimmin' plenty! I have already been making plans to combine lots of things to include swimming.

Here are some books we might want to read though:

The Sea Priestess by Dion Fortune
    Echo by Francesca Lia Block
    Indigo by Alice Hoffman

  2. thank you so much for visiting my blog and I am very glad you liked the mermaid canvas. AAWA is short for An Affair With Art. We are a group of mixed media artists from around the world. About 100 members currently belong. If you are interested please let me know. We do many types of art using just about everything including the kitchen sink. Many of our members have been published in Sommerset Studios magazines. Our theme for June is MERMAIDS I am not that into mermaids but just about everyone in the group is so that canvas was rather a reach for me. lol

Stop by anytime and thank you again for the nice compliments.
